  • Costumes are distributed to students once they arrive at the studio.

  • North Shore Dance Studio provides quality alterations (if needed) for your child for an additional $5-$10 per costume. You may also contact Sew What Design Studio & Alterations for your dance costume alteration needs. The shop also offers alterations services on bridal, formal wear, children's clothing, original hem on jeans, zipper replacements and more, as well as sewing classes for adults and children.

BILLING/PAYMENTS

Billing

  • At the start of each fall and spring semester, we will send you an invoice for the total amount of tuition (and costumes if applicable) due for the semester. It is expected that the bill will be paid entirely by the end of the semester.
  • Nutcracker Costumes will be added onto the Fall Semester invoice, while Spring Recital Costumes will be added on the Spring Semester invoice.
  • Invoices will be sent from our accounting software, “QuickBooks/Intuit”. Please be on the lookout for those emails.
  • For billing questions or concerns please contact northshoredancebills@hotmail.com

Payments

  • Every NSDS Family is required to provide a credit/debit card at the time of registration.
  • Our default payment method is to charge monthly payments to your credit card on file during the semester. We aim to start payments on the first Friday of the month and finish payments by the 15th of the same month.
  • We will charge your card a portion of your entire semester bill each month.
    • Fall Semesters start in September and go through December, meaning there are 4 months of classes. Therefore, we will charge your card ¼ of your entire bill for each month of the Fall semester.
    • Spring Semesters start in January and go through May, meaning there are 5 months of classes. Therefore, we will charge your card ⅕ of your entire bill each month of the Spring semester.
  • We use “SquareUp” to charge all credit cards. Please be on the lookout for emails from that company on behalf of NSDS.
  • While it is assumed each family will be paying via our default method of monthly charges, we do accept other forms of payment. Please contact the studio if you would like to be set up on a different payment plan. Some common alternatives are listed below.
    • Paying with cash or checks
    • Paying the entire bill at once at the beginning of the semester
    • Starting payments during summer (for the Fall semester) to decrease the total amount charged each month.
  • NOTE: There is no discount/upcharge for any form of payment. You will pay the same amount whether it be via cash or credit card, or if you pay monthly or all at once.

POLICIES

Pandemic/Health Outbreaks

North Shore Dance Studio's primary concern is for the safety and health of our students and staff. We will continue to follow recommended guidelines of all health administrations, including local and state governments and school districts. In the event of a recommended business closure, prepaid tuition funds will be given as credits to future charges, including tuition, store charges, costumes, tickets, etc. If the studio is closed after costumes have been ordered, costume fees are non-refundable. If there are extenuating circumstances that do not allow you to return to the dance studio, those cases will be handled on a one-on-one basis.

Cancellations/Weather

North Shore Dance Studio is not responsible for cancelled classes due to lack of enrollment or inclement weather. For studio closings, please tune into WISN Channel 12. North Shore Dance Studio is in the city of Mequon and the county of Ozaukee. We generally follow the Mequon–Thiensville School District. Also, check our Facebook and Instagram accounts for updated studio information.

Absences

Please notify the office if your child will be absent from dance class via telephone or e-mail. We encourage classes to be made up in a similar class with an appropriate level. If you are enrolled in Ballet V, you are required to attend another ballet class to meet your two class/week requirement. We do not reimburse for missed classes.

Refunds

Refunds are pro-rated from the date of notification, and are given only under the following circumstances:

  • Written notice from a doctor due to illness or injury
  • Student moves out of town
  • NSDS is unable to place a student in a class
  • Costume refunds will only be given if notified prior the start of the 2nd month of dance classes each semester.

Performances

We have two performance opportunities here at NSDS throughout the year

  • Fall Semester = "The Nutcracker"
    • Only available for "Dance Basics" and Ballet classes
      • No E Jazz/HH, No J/C, No HH, No Tap
  • Spring Semester = Spring Recital
    • All classes participate
  • Dancers who miss multiple classes may be restricted from performing in the recital or Nutcracker.
  • Dress rehearsals for performances are mandatory for everyone in order to be included in the recital.
  • Students may not receive their costumes for a performance if the previous semester’s balance is not fully paid off. If a student does not receive a costume because of this, they will be unable to participate in the performance until the balance is paid.
